low crime, warm climate away from Hurricane,
Not moving to a third world country; I believe in better answer then the one I just readed.
I’m retired and live in Honduras, but did a lot of research and visiting before picking it. Panama, Belize and Costa Rica have the best infrastructure but are much more expensive to live in than Guatemala, Nicaragua or Honduras. For many reasons I didn’t like El Salvador much. I didn’t, and still don’t see that much difference in the crime between any of them and with Daniel Ortega, and his best buddy Chavez back in power in Nicaragua, that leaves Honduras and Guatemala. Honduras’ so called "coup" is over and done with now and every one has high expectations from the new president who definitely knows the value of tourism and the large expat communities in the country. I have found the medical care to be top notch (most of the doctors are US trained) and very inexpensive. Living on the north coast is laid back, easy and, again, low cost. You will pretty much have to take your chances with the hurricanes, but most of C. America is south of the usual hurricane path.
I was born in Cambodia and have a citizenship in Canada if that helps.
Really depends where you want to retire
check with the Embassies on the internet
I have a very small retirement income of $1,500 per month. I do have savings of around $150,000. What is the best english speaking country to retire to?
Panama or Costa Rica. Even though Costa Rica isn’t officially English speaking, there are so many American retirees there and most people speak English.
to get her here, iv’e been married almost 7 years now and really at this point we don’t even care about her being an american citizen anymore, we just want to be together at our home before we die of old age waiting for a visa, we plan to return to her country to retire later so what should we do to get past all the crazy red tape and just go on with our life together, this is really a bad thing to wait for a visa its not worth the distruction to my familys happyness, can anyone tell me of a better way for what i’m trying to do, thanks so much.
I really hope my question brings to light why so many people where asking for immigration reform, it was not to give a free pass to the mexican workers at all, it was to help the familys of american citizens trapped in never ending red tape and stupidity that is distroying to many peoples lifes for nothing, they give the visas to workers, and push the familys to the back, its all for greed.
this happens with and in any (all) country. You just can’t change back and forth that easily. Red tape is there for good reason. If you have questions contact an attorney. No one can advise you except an attorney.
